From Broadway to Jazz, featuring Rick Kish & Natalie Howard-Grant, will be a night filled with the greatest musical theatre tunes, showstopper songs & jazz standards, interspersed with stories and comedy. On Saturday August 28, 2010 at The Aeolian Performing Arts Centre, Kish and Howard-Grant, with the talents of Marque Smith at the piano, Randy Rektor on bass and Daniel Baerg on drums, will invite the audience to enjoy two acts of Broadway tunes that have become jazz standards….with a few little surprises! Guests can look forward to songs like Fly Me To the Moon`` and ``The Lady is a Tramp``, just to name a few.
Kish has been working professionally as a theatre artist in various capacities since proudly graduating with his BFA from the University of Windsor’s, School of Dramatic Art in 1992. Kish is a member in good standing of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (CAEA), and has served as artistic director at The Port Stanley Festival Theatre and The Bluewater Summer Playhouse, in Kincardine. He has worked as an artistic director, producer, director, actor, singer, voice teacher & acting coach and has created, produced and performed in a variety of Jazz/Swing themed shows with
Howard-Grant.
Most recently Kish performed in the London Fringe Festival 2010, and his show Saucy Jack & The Space Vixens won Best Production. Last year, Kish took the time to record his debut CD "Little Boy Blue".
Originally from London, England, Howard-Grant now resides in London Ontario. Howard-Grants` theatre career has taken her to four continents where she has performed in such shows as “Starlight Express” (Japan/Australia/Germany) and ”Chess” (UK tour). Audience members may recognize Howard-Grant as a performer at “Maggie's Supper & Jazz Club” where earlier this year she held her CD release party. She has been doing all of this while raising her two daughters Alex & Ella.
