Aeolian School of Music
“If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music.” ~Gustav Mahler
The Aeolian School of Music is located on the ground floor of the Aeolian Hall Musical Arts Association, a centre for research and development of arts programs with focus on social justice, social inclusion, and community development.. The school was formed in 2004 by a number of community teachers who had a vision to establish a quality community music school in London.
Our teachers are highly qualified and many bring a wealth of experience to their profession. Many of our faculty enjoy performing and teaching careers - some even tour internationally. Currently, the school offers a diverse curriculum. Some students are studying for professional careers in music, while others study for their own personal enjoyment. Teachers mould the curriculum around the personal goals of the individual student.
Instruments offered include: piano, violin, cello, bass, guitar, voice, harpsichord, flute. Some teachers offer lessons in music theory, history, and pedagogy. The school also has specialized teachers/studies in Jazz and Folk idioms.
“I am learning all the time. The tombstone will be my diploma.” ~Eartha Kitt
